Harvest Table

My father was an absolute legend. When my parents lived on an 26-acre olive orchard, he would whip-up very rudimentary tables like this with a circular saw and construction lumber, whenever a surface was needed. They were very sturdy. The apron and legs yield incredible stability. And they were wonderfully functional. One particular table with a copper top. Served as the family meal table and lived under the giant oak tree just outside the house. 

With an abundance of farm-fresh ingredients and my mother being an incredible cook, we ate many family meals together at that table. 

Probably the most memorable ones of my life. 

I wanted to do a version that paid homage to those simple tables, but with an elevated sense of material and joinery.  It’s difficult to do an adaptation on something so functional and pure in form, but I’d like to think Dad would be proud. I certainly am!  They comfortably seat 10 people. And can be configured for indoor or outdoor use. The top gathers a natural patina from each meal.
